Michael was a Kumiho. His parents escaped from the Rekenber labs while he was still inside her mother's womb. Due to Kumihos being intelligent in nature they easily escaped their masters and went to travel and find a place to stay in. As Michael was born he was a natural smart kid. He was curious about all the things presented to him by his senses specially if they don't make sense to him. They travelled and escaped from the border guards as well as their hunters using their superior intellect.
In the end their other Kumiho bretheren sold them out which led them to be enslaved once again except for Miro who was purposedly snuck inside a caravan of trade heading to Aldebaran. Michael felt helpless, he felt betrayed by the actions his parents did, they were separated. Michael was then picked up by an unknown alchemist in the city and was fascinated by his unique form. By then Michael treated him as his own father and filled his empty mind with all sorts of fascinating facts the world has to offer. His smarts were well known by his foster father's colleagues and soon he became quite the researcher in a young age.
The time then came where his foster father and his group were called up to inspect the Rachel Sanctuary as per request of the bishop. They left Michael in the safety walls of Aldebaran along with the books they left for Michael to learn. Years passed and the group never came back. Michael realizing the peak of the knowledge the books had to offer suddenly went bland and basic. He then used the money his foster father gave him and travelled so he can experience firsthand the theories and facts written on the books and hopefully to find his real parents who were enslaved somewhere.
